The sculptures vividly illustrate this as well. Last but not least—to return to an aspect touched upon at the outset of this speech—however identical the representation and the idea being represented may be, the existential metaphors that connect these works to themes such as “Tides” still have to be considered. This applies not only in literature, but in art as well.Sculptures do not convey messages in the manner of coded texts. But through them, and through the ex- periences they transmit, the viewer can be trans- ported into other spheres of life without having to revise or abandon the experiences he has gathered here, and without feeling like a com- plete stranger there.
